Got this intercooled MP1900 TVS up and running on my built 4.0SOHC. Runs great. Working on data logging to finish off the tune. Makes 11PSI with a 3.0" pulley and 14PSI with a 2.8" pulley.

Here's a link to the build:

This is an upgrade to an X-Charger Xtreme from explorerexpress.com. My engine happens to be forged and has stage 2+ heads but this will work on a stock 4.0SOHC when properly tuned no problem.

Would throwing one on an engine with over hundred thousand miles on it be a bad thing to do?

As long as the engine has been well maintained it would work fine. The other major factor is getting a very good dyno tune from someone like Justin Starkey at VMP Tuning that is familiar with the 4.0SOHC.

The only reason I did a built engine is because I lost a piston in my old motor one do to fuel starvation and serious detonation which was my own fault by going to an autocross with not enough fuel in the tank. The engine had 147,000 miles on it at the time and had been under boost for 117,000 miles with a lot of track time and WOT runs to redline on my commute every morning on the entrance ramp to the freeway for years.

Cool. Good to know for any future plans. I've always wanted to do it, but just don't quite have enough knowledge or the tools to take on something that major yet.
