Hello Im looking at putting a mach 1 gauge cluster into my gt and the person that I'm planning on purchasing the cluster from says that it might not be compatible without reprogramming. Please help thanks

Mach 1's are 4V's and have different redlines. Your tach would be off, so no, it wont work.

Bullitts use the same cluster but they are 2V so the tach is identical. Look for a Bullitt cluster.

I have a Mach1 cluster in my car. It works fine, I had to change the backing piece (?) to get the mileage right...it has been 6 or 8 years so I don't remember the exact procedure, but it was no huge deal.

I' m sorry, I don't remember exactly what I did, but I know I didn't have to change the needles or anything like that...I found something on the internet about it, if I can find it again I'll post a link.

this isn't exactly what I was looking for but it works:
http://www.mikefordmustang.com/writ...g-gt/install-bullitt-gauges-on-mustang-gt.php
basically I took the circuit board (the green part) off my original gauge cluster and put it on the Mach 1 cluster...I remember having to mess with it a bit, but I don't remember if that was because of the new cluster or left-over crud from the aftermarket overlay I had (it sucks getting old :D)

and yes the redline on the gauge is a bit optimistic for my mostly stock GT, but as long as I know not to let it go that far before I shift it is no big deal

now if I could just make the color of the HVAC panel match the color of the cluster when they are lit up :-/

Thanks for the info buddy I'm gonna get the cluster and do the swap. Now the hvac? Doesn't match what do you mean by that. As for interior paint latemodelrestoration.com is where I go.
