Ca Guys

hey guys i want another Fox body but i live in CA and this smog crap is lame. even with "a smog guy" i still worry about getting stopped by CHP and having to pop the hood. I wanted to go 351 stroked to a 408 carbed (no smog equp at all). So my guestion is, have any of you been busted? do any of you register your cars in different states? my parent live in KY and i was going to put a car in there name. Hope to hear from yah. thanks

I did it for years did not get caught had the car plated in Idaho. I however would not suggest it, a good friend just got a ticket and sent to the ref, his car is legal but the ref was very strict and failed him for a MAF.

Not worth it. I finally moved out of CA and am very happy about it.

I cant justify moving out of state just to be abe to put what motor i want in a car. might just stick with my 67 then.

Easy, just find other justifications... like no state income tax, lower cost of living with lots of jobs, gun friendly, freedom friendly, all around better places like Texas.

There are a LOT of reasons to move out of CA..lol. States like TX and FL are warm, have no state income tax, low unemployment, and for the most part are much cheaper to live. I've been there many times and enjoyed visiting but could never live there. The amount of regulation and taxation would bankrupt me.

My sympathies for living there. It is fun to visit the right parts, but I live in a mansion here compared to the shack I could afford there. Heck, my shop is probably bigger, better heated AND better cooled than the shack I could afford in CA. But I am not telling where I live so Coloradoans and Californians stop moving here and raising prices.

Former San Diegan born and raised there and now relocated to the Pacific Northwest kinda like Grover. It's really hard to beat the Nazi Cali sniffer. My friends opened a PO box in Anza Borrego (ocotillo) which is smog exempt and registered their vehicles there to get around being compliant.

Eff cali! I own a house and make twice as much $$ now and we have REAL POWDER SNOW in the mountains unlike SoCal.
