Grinding Noise.. Brakes??

i have a 99 GT and it recently started making a grinding noise in the rear passenger side wheel. it sounds like my brakes, like metal on metal, but it does it ALL the time. not just when im on the brakes. it does it non stop. would this be the brakes?? why would it do it constantly though?? i dont want to buy new brake pads if thats not what it is..

Pull the wheel and inspect the pads.

Disc brake pads may have some degree of contact with the rotors. If the pads are down to the metal you could hear noise even without touching the pedal.

While that side is in the air and before you've pulled the wheel, give it a spin. Check for roughness or looseness in the wheel indicating a possible failed wheel bearing.

thats exactly whats happening. i took it to the garage and they said my one rear caliper is bad, and that the brake pad on one side was worn down to nothing and the other one had no wear hardly at all. so do i need to get a new caliper? i definitely need new rotors and pads. whats the best deal on rotors and pads and possibly calipers? are these kits any good?

I've ran brakemotive rotors before. And loved them. They performed great with even some Hawk HP+ track pads (although this wore out the rotors because of the pad compound. I hear some great things from R1 Concepts too.
