Hey everybody,

I'm trying to disconnect my rear lower control arm from the axle (installing coilovers) and am having a really hard time removing the bolt that holds the arm to the axle. I got the nut off but the bolt just spins when turning and I can't get a swing at it with a hammer to punch it out because the brakes (drums) are in the way. Anybody have a helpful hint? I don't want to remove the drums just to get room to swing the hammer.

Thanks.

Did you already remove the rear springs? You need to relieve the load from the control arm. Once you do that, it 'should' slide out.

I have a jack under the control arm lifting up just a bit to relieve the spring pressure. I am trying to remove this bolt so I fully lower the arm to remove the spring. These bolts have been there for 20 years!
