In The Market For A Clutch

Looks like my TOB is going and the car just isn't grabbing like it used too. Whats the fun in a stang if you cant peel it....?

So right now the car has bolt ons but I plan on doing some trick flow heads and cam down the short road and possibly a blower on the long road. I also currently live in boston and traffic is no fun

So whats a good clutch to hold some 500hp, what stage (hp rating?), and one that wont destroy my leg in traffic

thanks for the reference. Not a bad price for the clutch, flywheel is something id prolly do as well. Cant get over the price of them nearly $400!!! How about the aluminium style? should be lighter, greater results?
 
I was worked away from aluminum flywheels main reason being the risk of warping from excess heat. I never looked to heavily into it and the other issue is the extra rpms needed for stop and go driving youll have to give it a little more gas to come from a dead stop so they say.

I have had both aluminum and steel. Aluminum will allow the car to rev quicker but make it more difficult to launch in my opinion. It will require more slipping of the clutch. Don't get me wrong its not a deal breaker but I actually prefer steel from a comfort perspective.
 
Not much experience with lightened steel. Try not to get to hung up on the flywheel there is some differences but both have their advantages. Aluminum revs quicker but steel because of the weight has greater amount of energy (Inertia) which comes in handy in a heavier car. In a lightweight or race inspired car I would recommend aluminum but in a heavier street car I prefer steel. I will get arguments on this and at the end of the day you will be happy with both so maybe the lightened steel would be the way to go.
 
I got the Exedy stage 1 clutch with a Ram billet steel flywheel and love it. The clutch is really light and easy to use, I would definitely buy a new clutch cable, and quadrant adjuster while you are at it. I say that because mine had so much slack in it I couldn't shift the car into gear 3 months later after I installed it.
