My 5.0 Is Making A Terrible Noise (video)

I've heard of people that have just tightened them out of sequence and nothing catastrophic happened, then there are others that bent valves. remove the rockers, check your push rods. if you have a bent one I can promise the valve is probably in the same shape. if they all look good re-install all everything in the proper sequence and fire it up again. If all is well you will be good. If you still have valve noise be ready to pull the head(s)

Yes, I primed it and made sure everything was well oiled before the first start. I'm in the middle of re-torquing the rockers. I pulled every pushrod and not one was bent or messed up in any way, I'll update again after the start up.

Checked that, firing order is correct and it's at 12 degrees advanced. I'm scared it's something in the bottom end, but it wouldn't make any sense because it's got the same bottom end components I was daily driving with. Also 50 psi at idle is not bad. Hope re torquing the rockers did it

Alright, I torqued all of the rockers (correctly this time) and fired it up. The knock is gone now, it still does make noise but I'm pretty sure it's a combination of the busted up fan and exhaust leak. I think I will still go ahead and do a compression check and see how that goes. I'm optimistic about this now that I know none of the pushrods are bent and the noise seems to be gone.

LOL. Work in progress. This car was stripped about a year ago cause I thought I was going to build a racecar.. (yeah..). And now I did a 5.0 swap and used all the wiring out of an 88 GT. So not everything is in place yet. My priority right now is getting it running, and driveable. Then all the aesthetics.
