How Does This Engine Combo Sound??

If it were me, I'd probably leave the GT40 intake right where it was and put the Edelbrock up for sale....or better yet, sell them both. The standard Performer is a better intake, but not by a vast margin. I say if you're going to swap it out, swap it out for something that'll breath like an Edelbrock RPM II, Trick Flow Track Heat, or Holly Systemax II. That way, if you do ever decide to make some power with this thing, you won't have to replace the intake a second time.
I've had an eddy performer and a ported explorer intake on my current setup and the diference was minute. no real change with either jump on a better intake

If it's running right, I'd definitely leave it as-is. The performer would only go on if I had to tear the motor down. I do not recommend the RPM II or Track Heat with the F-cam, though. I don't think it's enough cam to go after the higher powerband those intakes would prefer.

Your right the Track Heat definitely loved the higher end of rpm range with my setup. The lower end was almost non-existent without something pushing more air imo. Still ran good just needed some more at the lower end, A custom cam and a good tune should take care of both those issues tho.
