P-51 Intake

A buddy just emailed me and asked if I was interested in his P-51 intake. He swapped to a 4v setup and doesn't need the intake. He said it would give between 20-25 hp and you could really feel it in the mid range. I can get it for $400. I am in the process of getting a saleen blower setup so I would only be using this intake for 4 or 5 months. Would it be worth buying for that short period of time since I wouldn't be able to use it with the Saleen setup?

Those intakes really require some heavy modding (ie. heads/cams/FI) for them to shine. They are overkill on a nearly stock car and might hurt performance, not increase it.

That is good to know. If I was using something besides the Saleen setup I would get it.

If he's willing to give it to you for a decent price, take it.....then turn around and sell it for a good heavy price

I can't get him any lower than $400. would that be a good price?

I don't think that fits under a stock hood either. May want to double check that.
