2000 Mustang Gt Clutch Or Tranny Issue Please Help

Okay so...just picked up a rebuilt T45 tranny. Came straight from T45 Source. Before I take it in to get it swapped....any other ideas folks? I had to take the reverse fuse out cuz my reverse lights stay on in the gears 1-4th that work. Again, 5th and reverse is not happening. The shifter wont even go to the right to attempt to shift to them. Its as if the tranny is a 4 speed. Someone mentioning taking the top part of the shifter out and theres a plastic piece down in there that may or may not have broke. Really dont wanna spend several hundreds in labor at a shop if it came be a simple fix. Thanks

Nope. With it on and off, its still the same. Its like its a 4 speed tranny. Doesnt even move to the right at all towards 5th and reverse.
Hey bud, when I'm driving in 5th gear for a while, I can pull it out of 5th but my shifter sticks. I have to really push the shifter to the left in order to get back over to 1-4 side of the gears. It doesn't do it every time but enough to be frustrating... Sounds like the same thing sort of huh?

Well I dropped it off at the shop at 1030 this morning. Said it would be done sometime tomorrow. I bought a new clutch kit for them to swap out as well. This rebuilt T45 I bought for $450, guy wanted $600 and said it was rebuilt by T45 Source but didnt have any paperwork like he stated he did before I drove 2hrs to get it. So, he went down some. Guess time will tell if it was really rebuilt or not. Supposed to have all new brass syncros and forged shift forks. Ill post again with the new updates tomorrow night or Wednesday with thew results.

As I said in earlier posts above, there really isn't any trustworthy shops in Columbus, Ohio. Dropped the stang off at Boyds Auto in Westerville yesterday morning. It sat all damn day yesterday and they didnt touch it. So, I got a call this morning and said they cant fix it as the frame on the car is badly bent and they wouldnt be able to hook up the drive-shaft to the tranny. Little did they know, my car has never been in an accident and I swapped out the tranny just last October and it bolted up perfectly. Bunch of fat, obese lazy bastards who probably dont know how to do a tranny swap in the first place. Well, they do specialize in brakes and oil changes so I guess I should have taken it to a transmission shop in the first place. Moving on: I took the car this morning to a real transmission shop called A-team Transmission in South Columbus. An hour ago I get a call saying the new tranny I just bought a few days ago was crap too. The bearings inside were wiped out. So, I only paid $450 for this rebuilt tranny that was supposed to been built by T45 Source in Ohio with new carbon fiber syncros and forged shift forks....and the mother **** lied completely. No wonder why he couldn't find the paperwork cuz it didnt exist. Is there anyone left on the planet that is good on his word? Any honest auto mechanics beathing still? So now Im stuck with 2 bad trannys and my stang sitting in a shop. Its for sale. $9000 cash money. Will be posted in the Columbus Ohio Craigslist.

Yea, I was gonna buy one off Ebay but didnt. I'm a see it and want it now kinda guy. Didnt wanna wait. The shop called this afternoon and said the bearings inside the new one are bad so they are gonna take apart my old one and see if they can make 1 good one out of both trannys. I'm hoping the phone call I get tomorrow is a good one and that it runs like a champ again. If not, I will apply for a parttime job at a local shop and do it my damn self after hours. lol Sure wish I had a lift in my garage.

Where do you live? I'd be willing to do it for free with your help at my home shop garage just to help you get the car back on the road and the issue behind you. I would be knocking on that guys door for sure in the meantime and create a azzhole ad on CL with his name and location so other people know to stay away. I'm sure he has screwed others over before. If I had a dime for all the posts I've seen on there that claim their trannys and engines have been gone through I'd be rich. Exactly the reason why I would never trust anything but new or getting the job done myself in whatever why I see fit.

Westerville, Ohio. I just called the shop. 24 hours later, they are still where they were yesterday when I called....tearing apart both trannys to make 1 good one. Wtf! If I had a lift, I would already been done with it and sitting in my tree stand scounting a big buck right now. By the time they are done, the rut will be over. lol

Yeah, :poo: keeps getting worse and worse. Car was suppose to been done today and they just closed without so much as a phone call with an update or nothing. I will arrive there bright and early tomorrow morning to tow it back home for sure.

Yea your a tad out he way from Florida. Well if you don't live in an apartment and you have some driveway room about 4 jack stands or ramps and some basic tools and a twelve pack is all you need.
