2013 Pony Projection(puddle) Lamps Retrofit On '05-'09's

Hi all!

I recently obtained the part number(s) for the actual lamp(s) responsible for projecting the Pony Logo on the ground in the 2013 GT's. I've also got the diagram(although a poor one) showing an exploded of the 2013 mirror assembly. As most know, the lamp mounts in an opening on the underside of the mirror housing. The opening seems to be multi-angle in the image, and not a simple round or square opening. So, this retrofit will require these openings to be cut in the underside of the 05-09 mirrors.

The lamps retail for $99.00 each side at Fordparts.com, but a call to the local dealership(and FRPP dealer) netted a cost of $76.00 each.

I'm seriously thinking about trying this mod out myself and documenting it with pics...ect for posting on the forum, but I wanted to ask if anyone has seen, or know of anyone who has done this retrofit already??

Do you know the part number for the pony light inserts and if so may i have it? thanks Eric

There are some LED lights that are similar that you can get with different projections (pony, Ford emblem, etc) on eBay for less than $20. They mount in the bottom of the door itself, rather than the mirror. I believe they are called puddle projection lamps or something. Several folks on one of the other forums have done it.
