Hey all,

Please forgive my ignorance if this has already been answered. I would like to convert my 88 to MAF for future mods that will be coming. I found a real nice 5.0 bare block for free, so I can start thinking about a 331 or 347 to build and save the original engine for the car.

So Im looking to convert to the MAF but I cant seem to find a PCM out of a 89-93 with the correct A9L for a manual trans car. Is there anyone that is reputable that still have these, or is there anyone that makes a complete kit. Ive searched all over and there are a few on flea bay but there are no guarantees and before I drop 300 bucks I figured I would ask the masters.

Thanks,

Thanks Mike,

I will do some reading. Is anyone making a fully tunable PCM or is that way overboard for me. I would like to do a E cam and valve spring upgrade when I reseal the original engine, but I don't want to spend a ton of money because my goal is a 331 or 347 at some point.

Thanks for the info.

The factory EEC is fairly adaptable to changes. There are some who were successful with using the SD EEC, even on modified engines. SD allows more air flow since no MAF.

I would do your mods & then see how it runs with it. 20 years ago, there were no options at all & tuning was something you did with the radio.

Just about the fastest NA Mustang ever was the Super Trooper, 9's at 140. Don't remember if it was SD or MAF.

Cool, thanks for all the help. I will do my current mods and see how it goes from there. I have a bare 5.0 block that I am going to build in the future, so I will go from there I guess...Thanks Again.
