In the process of putting a 88 fox 5.0 and t5 into a 94 v6 stang.
the trans cross member is approx 3" short of being able to bolt the trans mount to. Is a 94 gt t5 crossmember what i need? The 88 could work with a bit of fabricating. but Id like to just bolt in and go.
I already have the motor and trans in and driveshaft in. And the hood on.
Now the engine wire harness. Obviously is different so If I acquired a 94 gt wire harness would that just plug and play on the 88 5.0?
Im good on everything else the power steering line worked great with the 5.0 steering pump.
looks like I will have to do a little figuring out on the vacuum lines which i believe will be no trouble i am just going to use the vacuum tree from the 88.
I did find that im going to have to splice the fuel lines from the v-6 to make them longer to fit the 88 5.0
there on the passenger side and have the proper size hookup but they need to be approx 10 inches longer.
If anyone can steer me in the right direction on the crossmember and the wire harness it would really help.
Thanks for any help you can give.
Have a great day!

The pre-94 transmissions are actually shorter than the 94-98 ones. You can use the 88 T5, but you'll need a 94-95 bellhousing and input shaft; both are longer to accommodate the bigger body.

I don't believe the 94 5.0 wiring harness will fit the 88 5.0. Many of the sensors are different pre-94 and 94-95. It's too bad you didn't get a 94-95 5.0, this conversion would be a LOT easier.

Yes I know doing a 94 5.0 would have been easier but I already had the fox and the motor and Trans were gone thru approx 45k ago. And I pick up the 94 for pretty much nothing
Already have the motor and Trans in aluminum driveshaft in and reworked that cross member to fit.
I just need to concentrate on the engine harness. The fox motor has had smog deleted. And had the egr deleted. And it's not a mass air motor.
So I'm going to look into the possibility of using everything from the ECM to the motor off the fox.
Pretty much everything else bolted right up including the h pipes
But that was the easy stuff I hate wiring! But that's the next challenge!
I will post my findings and if anyone has any good advise let me know.
Thanks
