The rule of thumb with the average V8 is 1 hp for every 10 degree (F) drop in intake air temp.
That's the number that keeps floating around in Google searches, but on cold Georgia mornings, the Seat Of the Pants Meter seems to tell me it is more than that...

No appreciation for beauty or works of art.
You must be one of those guys that draw mustaches in the faces of beautiful women...
As opposed to the guys who's women already have mustaches? Because that's what an LSx gets ya. Damn bastard cars.

Mike

This is the back of a 65 Comet Caliente'

And of course, here we have Raggedy Andy, the way he arrived from Arizona after all of the stock tail lights fell off along I-10.

See the potential similarities?

It's been weeks now since I tacked those Mustang tails onto the car, and they are still in that state. The lines just don't work right,...and I'm hesitant to do a bunch of welding on something that in the end will be somehow,...a little "off".

Now the Comet on the other hand has a squared off trunk line, and that angle that the rear slopes is similar to the angle of my trunk lid. Granted, it's not going to have the exact same proportions, but the general flow is there,..and I am going to brand the car as a Mercury Cyclone anyway, sooooooo...

I could add a similar filler strip to the bottom of the trunk like the Comet, and then custom make a tail light panel that will span the entire width of the rear of the car. Doing that will allow me to use red, and amber leds behind a clear Lexan strip. I'd frame the thing and possibly run a couple of strips across the tails for accent similar to the chrome on the Comet.

I haven't ruled out the Mustang tails yet either,..as either way, I'm gonna have to do a bunch of welding to make either concept work. The Mustang tails require that I "round off" the trunk lines,..the Comet tail idea requires a whole bunch of creative boosh it, and I will even have to custom make the lights.
The decision to keep the Mustang tails is heavily weighted based on the fact that I already have a set of lights to work with.

Then there's this car.

Forget the spoiler, forget the rear bumper,..even ignore the filler cap in the middle between the tails.
I have these tail lights already, only in the Cougar iteration.

They're the same tails as the 67 Shelby, only they have that Mad Max grille surrounding them. I bought these because I thought I could make them work,..but they are so heavily framed by the surrounding chrome,...I just couldn't see them in my head.

All I know is the Fox Mustang tails are not that far out of place on the rear of the car currently, but there's just something not quite right.

The problem is its to flat. It needs to retain the angled decent to follow the body line
