'90 Coupe Seat Options?

Hey all, bought my first mustang and the seats are quite ugly and smell rather bad. Lots of tobacco has been smoked in this car. I was wondering what options do I have for seats? I was thinking about just buying new upholstery, but I'd rather have a little more support and I like to sit in the seat rather than on the seat. The interior is black and Id like black vinyl, possibly cloth if it's nice. All in all, I'd like to be around $300-$400 since I need to paint the car as well. I had an 86 corvette a few years ago and I liked the seats in that, but they are very low to the floorboard and I have no clue how the tracks would go in. I like the "racing" seats, but I don't want to be cramped. Sorry for the long post, haha.
Thanks,
John

@TMIproducts has a wide selection and great customer service. They have seat foam available so that you are not sitting "on" the seat lol. If you order the TMI upholstery from LateModelRestoration it will be in the $300 - $400 range. Racing seats will cost way more than that and buying used seats online are normally $200 - $300 plus shipping.

Could you essentially put seats from any year mustang into a fox providing that you have the seat tracks?

79-2004 will bolt in...even with the newer tracks

Even the backseat can be made to work....although not a direct bolt-in

If you don't mind canibalizing the seats from your Fox, then you can remove the tracks and install them on the SN95 seats.

Some guys like the Sn95 seat tracks though...especially the newer 8-way power tracks. They are heavy though.

You will need to do some splicing to hook up the 12V+ power to the seats though

2005+ seats are different story...will need to custom fab tracks

Oh okay, so the sn95 seats are all power then huh? Okay, well in that case I'll pass on doing that

The seatbacks were easy in a hatchback. The bottom cushion required a little custom fab work. Nothing bad, but since nobody sits in my rear seat, its just for show.

Coupe rear will require some fab work as well as there are gaps in the size when you put the SN95 seat back in.

There are some threads on this if you do a search
