Lol no I do not have a garage at least yet house I'm in the midst of buying has a 2 car attached garage and a 2 car detached garage. The detached only has one door but space enough for 2 cars.

I thought about that... Here's what came to me:

A large, bare metal, cast beam would look right at home there. :)

Actually I think the sexiest beams are GLB's (glulam beams) where you take a bunch of 2x8's (or another size) and stick them together and then you stain them. PSL (Parallam beams) are nice too. These beams are less expensive than steel and are plenty strong enough for residential contruction 9 times outta ten.

It's the ceiling where he's losing all his heat. Out where @GroverDill and I live it's very cold during the winters. Freezing temps and snow from around Nov to March. I'd just pay somebody to insulate the ceiling and sheet rock it and tape it and then you can do the walls yourself over time. At about $15 per 40' roll of R-19 faced pink insulation you could piece it together over time.

What makes your ceiling hard to do is they'll have to get a lift in there to get the job done.
