Old School - Intake Shoot Out

i have heard of tmoss ported gt40 intakes do wonderful things........ and i love my cobra intake too. BUT cross sectional area dictates it will choke the engine...
to play devils advocate- lets not forget the 351 in the lightning ran a gt style intake and made very resonable power.

Ummm.... I wouldn't consider 250hp out of a 351 reasonable

I thought this was all based on getting a good deal on a used 363. You could always trade that 363 for my 347. I have the hci to take advantage of it. I would love to put a second stage of nitrous on my car too.

Yes the 363 is a brand new '09 363 dart block that has been sitting in a warehouse, so it's not used but has all forged internals etc, little cash/trade tor it. I can also still can add boost later.

So here is another set up, 347ci, AFR 185 and a xe282hr, the cobra is in a ballpark im pretty good with

When I see them do an intake shootout, and they are all within 2hp of eachother, my guess is that there was something else limiting the power potential. Even with that, I am glad I went with the Systemax 2, because it is the clear winner in all these dyno tests.

If you got the 363 bottom end because it was a good deal and you want to run a GT40 intake on it, go for it; see what happens. If it doesn't end up making the power you want, it's only a few hours to swap the intake later anyway. If you were building a 363 from the bottom up and you were picking out a combo, then I would recommend against it.
