Hey my motor is overheating. I put a hose to the radiator and reservoir and neither seem to hold water, especially the reservoir. I found a puddle of brown coolant as soon as i parked. Also i hear a puff and a whistle from the left side around the header? I hear the water boiling inside the engine. Its night so i cant see. Help me pros

Well once it is daylight, try to see where the water is coming out. You say the coolant tank won't hold water? It's right there so where is the water coming out of? Same thing for the radiator. You are adding water to the radiator neck and you would see if it was leaking out somewhere. The more serious issue is whatever is going on near the header. Is is just an exhaust leak or do you have a blown head gasket? If it was a blown head gasket that would explain why you keep losing water. Check your oil. If it is turning milky, that means coolant/water is mixing in the oil and you probably have a blown head gasket. White smoke coming out of the exhaust also means coolant/water is getting into the combustion chambers = likely blown head gasket.
Easy young Skywalker. Change the oil. If it looks like chocolate milk go ahead and just install that ls motor. If the oil is good take your car to a shop to have the cooling system pressure tested. Costs around 60 dollars abd will tell you exactly where the problem is. If that's too much money Buy a bike and start peddling.

$60? This is the same kid who can't afford to put a 4th lug nut on his wheel. Some people are bus riders.
I know I know but if he can't diagnose a leak big enough that a hose can't keep it full then he's best off paying the semi pros to do it until he can graduate and figure it out himself. I started there at one point and I am sure many others did as well.

Agree 100%. It's no shame to admit you are over your head. I made plenty of mistakes when I was young and thought I knew everything. Put together my first motor at 15 with no torque wrench, re used evey bolt I could find. The damn motor ran for 2 years until I blew it up at Englishtown. Go figure.
How is this kid ever going to tackle an LS swap? He'd be better of swapping in a junkyard Explorer engine and call it a day.

i was thinking the same thing,never mind a head gasket cause it sounds like it is....but theres always block and headgasket seal...!

Seriously then get to work diagnosing your car or have someone do it for you. Your engine will be a pile of scrap if you keep running it with a bad overheat issue like that.
