My engine has developed a whistle suddenly. I first thought it was a bearing but ran it without the serpentine and well, it's a whistle.

Removed the idle air bypass valve and cleaned it. It appeared to be functioning correctly. It is also spaced off my BBk tb. (80mm)

Car seems to idle fine. Sprayed carb cleaner all over everything I could think of intake related and no appreciable change in sound or idle.

It sounds like it's coming from the passenger side.

Car is desmogged. All gaskets were new and I even used a torque wrench when tightening everything down!

What do you think?

Lesson learned. When you are supposed to recheck bolts after x number of miles....do it. I had some bolts in the very back that weren't as right as they should have been. I think it was pulling air over the gasket like a blade of grass between your thumbs. Just because you do it by the book when building something, make sure you do the easy stuff after the fact.
