so I did an engine swap with the ford racing 306 from summit

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/fms-m-6007-x302

i seem to have done a bad job gathering and categorizing bolts for each part. when i went to reinstall the water pump i found that i only had a few of the right bolts.

can anyone possibly tell me the size/length of the water pump bolts ? (location i can figure out but that would be nice too)

i was going to buy the hardware kit from latemodelresto (http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/LRS-8501CHDW/Water-Pump-Studs-Bolts-50L-58L-Mustang-94-95) but it seems thats some of the bolts are actually studs to mount a bracket for AC which i do not have so i dont want studs randomly sticking out.

whats the easiest way to go about this?

also if someone could show me a decent picture of how the front dressing mounts that would help a ton. im just a little confused on the mounting of the tensioner pulley and power steering pump. my car has no ac or smog pump.

thanks for any help

I have an extra engine I could probably take the WP bolts out of and take pictures and give you lengths. May take me a few days (i have twin 10 month old girls that demand a lot of attention). I could post pictures of just the WP installed and accessories later this evening if not tomorrow for you.

You shouldn't have any trouble at all finding the bolt kits these days. ARP and several others all make complete kits now.

For sizes,
after digging and digging i think i found what im looking for. the second poster lists each bolt and size, can anyone confirm this though?

actually now that i look at it i still cant figure out what he is saying the lengths are

That's @ALMOST STOCK . He's a member here as well.

The measurements posted in that thread are nearly impossible to read. I'm not sure what:
Stud Size: 5/16"-18 x 3/8" x 16 x 5-3/8" and 5/16"-18 x 3/8"-16 x 3-7/16".
means.

Dorman sells the bolt kits in the HELP section of most parts stores as a kit. Best place to find them is in the JY. n Make sure you put anti sieze on them or you will snap them off when you need to replace the water pump.

Use lots of antiseize on the bolts to protect them from corrosion and make them easier to remove next time.

See http://totallystainless.net/totally.html for replacement stainless steel bolts. Last time I checked, they didn't have the studs. Nice folks, very into cars of all types. They have all kinds of stainless fasteners for almost every car. The prices are very reasonable, less the $10 for the water pump kit without the studs.

The studs are a Motormite item available at your local Advance Discount auto Parts store.

We need to take that info and just put it on a diagram and be done with it. I'll see if I can find something good to lay it over and PM you JR. Would make a great resource and could include a downloadable/printable file.

i picked up all my stainless stuff from tractor supply and mcmaster carr. if mcmaster doesnt have it no one does lol

Added Notes:
All Fox-Body cars are not the same.
The numbers with length and location that I’ve provided above were for a 1989 GT with A/C, Power Steering, Stock Alternator, and the Air Pump in place.
Bolt only for position #8 is correct for 1989. However bolt and stud combo is correct for 1990.
