I'm im the middle of getting this motor together and im not sure im doing the rockers right. Im running trickflow 1.6 Stud mouted rockers. I got the lash out and then turn the rocker arm adjusting nut 3/4 and locked it down. Going by the trickflow says. I noticed half of my adjusting nuts weren't even that okay?

After you've adjusted the rockers, let it sit 20-min or so and do each rocker again. The rockers maybe be pumped up with oil and can often lift the valve as opposed to depress the plunger in the lifter.

Shoot for between .020-.030 preload on each lifter. From what I've seen, keeping them at the shallow end of the acceptable range keeps them the quietest.

They do depress with slight load. I did have them soak in oil for a week if that makes a difference.

Soaking them in oil won't really do much but lubricate the outside of the lifter. In order to "pump them up" you'll need to run them and have the oil pump prime them.

I would set them up before hand.

Be warned though, if this is the first time starting the engine with new lifters and you haven't pre primed the oil pump, it's gonna make a heck of a racket. That's normal. It should clear up within a minute.

Yeah its a new motor. My first motor to build. Been a big learning curve. Just hope she starts and don't blow up.
