i miss my HIDs sooooo bad but hated how my old kit in my truck has wires going everywhere and spliced into the factory harness. does anyone know of a company that has reliable durable kits that are plug and play? i know late model has the plug and play LED kits but i kinda just want my 6000k HIDs back.

Wires going everywhere? All the HID kits I've seen have just plugged into your factory headlight harness, mind you there is wires to zip-tie/tuck away, and a ballast to mount. I just added some to mine recently after doing the headlight harness upgrade, with the adding of relays and in-line fuses. I ordered mine for a seller on flebay named "thehidsource", Xenon for about $60 that's including shipping. I purchased them April 22 of this year and no problems so far. Although I'm sure they'll go out tomorrow now that I'm saying this .

I bought a HID Headlight plug-n-play kit from Mustangs Unlimited. The only problem with mine was after it was installed I could only get 1 headlight to work. If I unplugged the working headlight then the other would light up but neither would light up together. So that kit is sitting in storage collecting dust.

Don't use hid lights without projector housings. I have hid's in both of my other vehicles. They both have projector lenses. I buy the cheapest ones on eBay. I think I just payed 30$ a month ago. Don't be fooled by the more expensive ones. I had them, they look and operate just the same as the 30$ ones. I normally get about 2 years out of a set, the ballast normally goes first. I drive with my headlights on everytime I get in the car though. So they would last longer if not used unless they are needed.

This is because you need a relay.

With the aero's and almost any other car I completely agree with you. On the four eyed's though you can aim them down far enough to prevent blinding other drivers. I got headlights flashed at me all the time with those cheap projector knock-offs.

Blinding other drivers is the main reason I took them out of my fox. There is a reason why the cars that come with hid's are projector lenses. I had mine aimed down like you suggested , but makes it hard to see.

Don't be one of those guys that slaps a HID kit into every forward facing light on their vehicle and drives around at high noon with the lights on.

Mustang headlights are terrible for HID pNp kits. The diffuser lens scatters the light too much and the reflectors are poorly designed for the HID bulbs focal point and glare like crazy.

If you don't care about blinding people and just want to look cool then go for it, otherwise pony up the cash and retrofit some projectors.
