I am swapping my AOD to a T5 and I have a guy selling me the full T5 swap out of his car that he's parting out. I know I probably shouldn't just stick all the used parts in my car, so what parts should I buy new?

Re surfaced or new flywheel
New tob
New pilot bearing
New clutch if it were me
Max motorsports clutch cable and fire wall adjuster.
Check universals in drive shaft
New trans mount.

Again all subjective on how far you want to go minus the TOB and pilot those are a must. But skip things like flywheel and clutch you will be pulling it back out evenutally. Just food for thought

If he will let you Take the petal and all the other stuff under the dash out your self, or be there when it is done. This will make it a lot eaiser to put back together. Its better than a box of parts.

This would also be the perfect opportunity for you to ensure you've got the correct speedometer gear in there for your rear end ratio. Which one you need will depend on what year transmission the T5 is, as they changed the drive gear from 7-tooth, to 8-tooth after 1990.

I have an 03 cobra IRS rear end, will I need to take this into consideration while doing the swap? Or will everything be the same?

no as long as you are using the driveshaft that's in the car already with the 03 cobra pinion flange all is well . in relation to the speedo gear just relates too gear size
