Anyone Here Running Ho Alternator?

Got a problem... My alternator bracket doesn't fit around the alternator here's a pic. Can I just ground or cut the alternator to fit in that bracket. Without affecting the integrity of the alternator. Any ideas? If Summit sells a better bracket, that's bigger. I'd rather spend the money on that. The + about using this bracket I have now (in the pic) is it mounts to the water pump instead of the head, as a stock alt. bracket would.

The later alternator swaps do not cause this big of a problem. I would replace the broken bracket with a good stock one since I do not see where my 130a alternator conversion even required any filing.

My cousin-in-law has one he said he'd give me, but that would mean I need to remove my heads in order to extract the broken bolts.

The 6g on the 99+ do not require filing as they had a smaller case
Is the wiring and amperage rating the same? Holy crap same amperage and $273.99

Yeah, same internals in a slightly smaller case. When I had to replace one in my 02 it was 190 after core return.

Alternator/generator shop in town. I think the chain stores wanted 250-280 as well.
I'll check around. I have heard some pretty bad horror stories about upgrading an alternator to put out more than it was originally intended. That was my first idea for a HO Alt. How long has yours been running?

This alt. deal has been killing me, as this is my daily driver. Ha-ha just to upgrade from a 1-wire...
