Ok I've been reading through the posts and am now asking for help from the masses. I have a a fastback that is in the the resto mod upgrade , currently running the Granada disks and spindles withe new pad and rotors, KYB shocks were just replaced, strut rod bushing are new as well. What I'm looking into is the RRS coil-over set up to include the phase 2 brake package and rack and pinion install. The car steers like boat with a bunch of slop in the wheel and tracks with every groove in the road. If any one has any usefull info on this set up or any portion of it post it.

What do you base that on? Sounds to me that if you replace the old parts with new part with same engineering your just walking in circles and not really upgrading. Help me understand your line of thinking

it depends exactly what type of driving you will be doing.

I have a few different brands of racks on several 65 thru 68 mustangs and absolutely hated every one.

Your car does not follow the grooves in the road because of the type of steering you have. If your stock steering is good it will follow the grooves about the same with a rack set up.

There is a huge diff in perf between a new stock set up, a worn out stock set up and a stock type set up that has parts that flex less like.

Tubular suspension arms

Polyurethane or delrin bushings

Needle bearing idler arm.

Urethane bushings heim joints on strut rods.

lower the upper arm pivot point

anti bump steer kit.

proper alignment for intended use.

Etc..

The coil over design will not affect performance.

They raced these cars at 180 mph with stock style steering.

I have to agree ,i drove one with a rack and pinion and was not impressed .The steering was to quick and tended to dart with the slightest touch of the wheel. A properly set up stock set up or a coilover replacement is in my opinion still better than any thing
else .
