Progress Thread My Kenne Bell Twin Screw'd Foxbody thread, (new addition to the family)

Got my high build 2K primer shot today. Should've been yesterday, got everything prepped and ready to spray and I open my gallon of primer and it's completely separated!! When I was at the autobody supply store I saw them take it to shake while they made my paint but I guess they forgot so that cost me a day. Had to take it to home depot and begged them to shake it for me and they did.

Anyways I laid down 3 wet coats and it came out great.

^^Thanks guys, lots of work going on, gotta get this 5.0 on the road in the spring and still have lots to do. Got my Valspar single stage WB (paint code) which is the same as my 05' Screw Oxford white sprayed today. I love what $5/hr baby sitting allows me to get done.

Here's some progress pics, came out great!

First, I sanded down the 2k primer with 320 grit then 400 grit with a block in some areas and by hand others. Block sand your flat areas and hand sand the curved or hard to get to areas. Scott pad other areas like the Kmember that you don't car about "finish" quality. Blow with compressed air, water down you floor with a hose to keep dust and over spray settled down. Then go over your area that your going to paint with wax and grease remover. Once done let it flash for about 20 minutes which allows you go to get your compressor charged up, paint mixed and gun ready.

I'm painting my Mustang to match my 05' Screw. They will be "twins".

Now I can get to my engine. Need to install my Scorpion RR's and get tall valve covers and a couple other little things like possibly powder coating a few things. Red white and blue for my AN fitting in my engine compartment. Or maybe black AN fitting and go black and white, what do you guys think?

I just went out and checked the drying paint again and I'm sorry but these pictures don't do the paint any justice at all. It looks 10x better than what you see and I don't know why these pix suck but they do. Here's a couple more that my represent a little better.

Are you painting the entire car in single stage?

Yes the entire car will be done this color in Valspar single stage paint. I tried to get PPG Concept but I heard they stopped making that line of SS paint when I searched around for it in my area so I went with my next best choice. @RacEoHolic330 , have any insight on the paint being discontinued?

Holy balls that is sweet!

Impressed as hell.

Thanks bro! There's a couple flaws in the paint but overall i'm happy with the results and stoked to get the engine ready to get installed soon. I'm thinking maybe I'll change my mind and spray the rest of the car when it warms back up in the spring.

Keep up the good work! Should be done by spring for sure if you keep this kind of progress going

Typically around this time of year I split a couple chords of wood for heating the house during the long cold winter. I do it old school style with a sledge hammer,a maul and a wedge. It's relaxing work for me and a good work out. At night time I can get working on re-installing the front suspension and get my intake manifold removed and get to installing the RR's.

Need to find some tall valve covers that already have the AN bung welded into them so I can run an open breather setup with a catch can. Know anyone that sells this already setup like that?

I've always liked the look of Single Stage paint,I'm hoping you write up a step by step post with very detailed parts and tool etc list lol

I'll throw something together soon for a write up on body work and paint as well as building the wheel carts that you see my car on.

Last night I started getting my suspension installed and will get my intake removed and start installing my roller rockers. Can anybody suggest the best method of painting the intake manifold? High temp? Powder coat? Other?
