Wife has an 03 gt auto. Has stage 2 high tech stage 2 cams, and usual engine bolt ons, 4.10's, edge 3000 converter. She wants a supercharger now, but still drives it on the street quite a bit. So far it looks as the best ones to consider would be the v3 si trim intercooled vortech or the intercooled p1sc? Which one do you guys think would be better? Where is the best place to buy a COMPLETE kit from?

I went with the ProCharger because I like the simplicity of the air to air intercooler. I don't know anything about the V3 kits. I'm not sure they were around when I bought my ProCharger. Vortec makes good kits though. I wouldn't say one is better than the other, for me it would probably come down to which is the best deal money wise. I'm sure the performance will be similar out of either brand.

My tuner ordered my tuner kit. I worked out the support mods on my own. Had a good discount on Ford Racing stuff. Tuner gave me a box tune to get it to the shop after I installed it. Then got the dyno tune to make it safe.

Another nod for the Votech. I'd skip the intercooler though. They run quite well without them. You'll easily make enough power to break the stock rods and pistons with the non intercooled kit.

The Procharger is a nice set up too....but far more expensive. They've got the quick step up ratio and are set up to come on fairly quickly (for a centrifugal), which is why they "need" the aftercooler.

Since she's auto, consider a turbo as well IMO. The On3 kits seem to have all the kinks worked out, are cheap and get great reviews. You will have to run a tubular K member setup so factor that in, but' that's a nice weight saving upgrade regardless of what you do. If still a supercharger, I'd say the Vortech. The PD blowers are great down low but they get heat soaked like a mofo.

Meh, the term "heat soak" is overused. Nothing get's more heat soaked than a turbo and they perform just fine (though a little inconsistent).

People who've never run them have this common misconception that PD blowers suddenly just fall on their face at high RPM and that's totally untrue. I used to run a ported Eaton M90S on my old 4.6L SOHC, spun to the tune of about 10psi. I used to see IAC temps as high as 230-degree's at times and it always pulled like a freight train all the way to red line and was consistent as fudge. Sure, it feels as though it tapers off a little up top, but that's because it pulled so much harder down low, not because it hit some invisible wall.

I wouldn't let over exaggerated internet lore like the heat soak scare me away from using one. OE manufacturers have been using them for decades with a 100% success rate.

I would however consider the 4.10 gears out back, plus oodles of torque to be a bit worrisome though. She'll never keep tires on the thing.

No idea about the M90 but the M112 is a whore on hot track days. Been there done that, I'm not the only one. Yes it does get overblown on the interwebz for street cars.

Agreed on the 4.10s, too many ppl just do "4.10s for autos and drag cars" without even thinking about tire height, transmission ratios etc... Witness all the Coyote autos with 4.10s wondering why they can't hook worth a damn. 1st gear in the 6R80 is so tall running 4.10s is something like running a 6.xx rear gear on an earlier transmission.

That is another concern is the trans and gear. Right now, I don't THINK it will shift into overdrive under WOT. She is pretty topped out on rpm at the stripe. So can you make it go into OD? Or yea, we'll have to put some less gear in it. 3.70's?

You are correct, AOD's won't shift into overdrive at WOT, regardless of gear ratio. For good reason. That O/D band wouldn't last long shifting hard like that. lol

I think she is pretty much set on either procharger or vortech. So where are you guys buying a complete kit for a good price??

I've never dealt with them personally, but I've seen many that have, who swear they're the best deal around?
