Mom and Dad got t-boned by a 3/4 ton. Dad, who is 65 mind you, was on the passenger side which is where the got hit. Both are up walking around. @madmike1157 Yeah it figures, they had hail damage repaired like a month ago.

I'm glad they both are OK too.Looks like it was a hard hit.But I'm unclear as to why you flagged me on this?

Curious, did the 3/4 ton truck have a brush guard on it?

Funny how some people will call these newer cars Pepsi cans because the body is such thin metal and they say that to imply that the vehicle isn't safe and won't stand up to a hard hit. Those same type of people are probably the ones also looking at newer cars and saying "there's no replacement for displacement":nonono:. It's called Engineering.

Glad your Family is safe and well.

Want to see where some of this engineering gets its birthing? It's called the Egg Drop contest and it's a big deal on some the mechanical engineering college campuses.

Because you were talkin bout how life gives you the "go figure" moments and they just paid to have hail repair and now this. At least no one replied "awsome" I guess. I hope you didn't notice the front wheel was cleaner than the rear....

Not sure about the brush guard. There is replacements for displacement it just cost more.

I do know that in the extreme case that it's true but the logic doesn't apply when people are looking at the new cars and comparing those new engines to the engines of the past. Like the new 5.0 vs. old 5.0 or an old pushrod 5.0 vs. a vtec acura integra. I've seen too many bolt on Mustangs and Camaros get smoked by NA bolt on hondas and integras back when I frequented the illegal drags in San Diego.

However if you want to build an 8 sec car then displacement is your friend.

Look how much more the new 5.0 is vs the old and the price of parts in the aftermarket. That's kinda what I was getting at.
