Hey guys I'm on the verge of getting a 2001 procharged cobra. It's fully built motor foraged rods n manly pistons bored .20 over pressurized oil with 2 oil collectors and Procharger running 13psi.

Here's the kicker, about 3500-4000 rpm it acts like its getting too much of fuel or air, because it just pops and cracks at the exhaust like your 2 stepping and just acts like its cutting out. But it's not got a wot controller on it. I'm confused on why it's doing this.

Please comment or something if ANYBODY. Has a clue. Supposedly, it could be retuned, but with it acting like that I doubt anybody would tune it. Ask anything you want and I'll tell you. Just need help

Thanks!

Hopefully it is just a tune issue. I have a 98 Cobra that around 2500-3000rpm would suddenly bog like crazy and refuse to run. Turns out when I got the tune, the calibration was for the wrong size MAF.

For something as worked as your car sounds, I would have it dyno tuned. I would do your research on some reputable tuners and give them a shout to see if this is an issue they have seen and successfully corrected before.

Best of luck!

As i have learned in the past few months, this could also be your fuel pump or maf.

The first time my car acted like that, the fuel pump was giving up. Replaced it and she was running fine.

Now it's doing it again to a lesser extent than before. The car threw a code this time indicating a maf problem. Now I'm in the process of changing that out. This will require a new tune though.

I could also see it being a tune issue but if it was fine before and this just started, you may want to look into the maf or fuel pump.

13 pounds of boost? I have a few questions.
What size fuel injectors do you have?
Is the MAF matched to the injectors?
What plugs are you running? Did you close the gap to .032-.035? Did you go one step colder?
What brand BOV are you using? Bosch?
Do you have a 6-rib or 8-rib pulley set-up? Is the belt slipping?
Who tuned it, what tuning program did they use, and did they give you the handheld tuner with the car?
What are you using for the fuel pump? BAP? Aftermarket pump? What type and size?
Any codes?

These are all important things to go over whenever buying or supercharging a car. Let me know the details and I'm sure we all could help you out a little better.
