Thx that DRZ is super fun and I scored the bike cheap as hell (1k) I have another $500 in to with carb kit, dual sport kit, headlight, chain, cam tensioner and a couple other small odds and ends.

$1500 all is is super cheap the question is flip it for an easy grand profit or just ride the hell out of it.

@Sharad is there somewhere we can follow this build, or are you just going to keep teasing us?

What's the over/under for when a Vortech is on it? I'm in for 3 months.

Pro charger - I'm with you

Y'all are crackin' me up. I literally laughed out loud! (Hope I didn't wake my wife and the kids up)

Anyway, the '86 has been in storage for over ten years. My dad is the original owner and I had been meaning to do something with it. Selling the Shocker was a heartbreaking deal for me, but it was a little easier to deal with, knowing I had the '86 in reserve. I don't have the money to do another full on build like the Shocker, but I figure I could build a pretty quick little street car using everything I've learned over the years. It'll be low budget, and not pretty, but I am adamant about making this thing dead hook on snow!

I haven't posted much about it because it's not really a "UPR project". It's really just me screwing around in my (very limited) spare time with my (very limited) spare funds. I bought the complete drivetrain out of a stock fox to bolt in for now. A friend of mine has some GT40 heads he'll sell me dirt cheap, and he even said he can help me build a turbo kit for next to nothing. TOOLOW91 nailed it- I'm totally a ProCharger guy. But it sounds like I can build a decent little 302/turbo combo with computer and fuel system for less than my dealer cost on a ProCharger. That's hard to ignore. I'd call it a success if I can make 500rwhp and come in around 2700lbs. Anyway, it's pretty much just concept phase since I'm focused on my 2011 right now. But I'll post updates of the stock stuff going in. I'd love to have the car running by the end of the year. We'll see.

Dead hook on snow? I'm listening....

I have a lot of customers who street race and do "no prep" racing on the track. It's not hard to get these things to wheelie on the street. I figure it may only make 500hp or so with the junkyard motor, but if I can dead hook it on any surface, it should be fun. I will post updates. :)

Thanks guys! The brakes are full cobra brakes all the way around, 98 Cobra wheels, '04 IRS on the rear. I've got to put narrower tires on the rear as the 275's that are on it rub on the fenders with those wheels. I want to see if someone local has some 18x9 SVE drift wheels in a S197 offset that I can slap on the rear to see if they fit properly and if so I'll eventually change out to those. If not I'll have to save up a crap ton of money and buy True Forged wheels like @RacEoHolic330 did for his car with IRS.
