Head Gasket Choices

I am going to be putting gt40 heads on my car in the near future... I have a pile of turbo stuff to go on the car also, but realistically that will not be in near future. Should I go with stock gaskets or upgrade?

Why not put in the better gaskets now and not worry about it if you do throw some boost at it down the road?

with a stock block id run felpro's... give yourself a "fuse" before the block splits

Felpro z 1133 baskets are good. Could go with cometic gaskets. Stock replacements aren't a bad idea if the tune isn't dialed in. They could be the "safety" link. Easier to replace them than a piston. Others will probably have a better choice than me. I haven't done a turbo build.

I think the Felpro 9333 is the right part number. Google that and see what pops up on other forums. I was reading about them a while back.

9333pt1's and don't look back. Cheap and work great. If your deck and heads are perfectly straight and a fresh build, go cometic but they are expensive.

Studs for a turbo build. I was thinking about that. I will look into the 9333pt1's. Not a fresh build, gonna see what the block in my car can handle. It runs strong and doesn't smoke at all. Gonna do a compression check to make sure that's ok. What is the benefit of studs? I understand it's better but why?

I plan on keeping the tune conservative.. A car that makes 425hp instead of 450hp is worth the 25 hp to keep it safe.. At least for me..

For the rise in cylinder pressures, I would go with Fel-Pro Loc-wire gaskets. You will need to get your heads machined for them, but I've had them on mine for 20 yrs with supercharger and no issues. Do studs also. Remember Windsors have only 8 head bolts. Not one of Fords "better ideas".

Got all the gaskets and timing chain, looking at head studs now, can these be used without pulling the motor? I don't really want to pull the motor to do HCI. I already have a motor on my stand and I don't have a hoist.

Yes can be done in car, you will need to get under it though to unhook the exhaust manifolds from the rest of the exhaust.
