I'm about to shoehorn this thing back into the engine bay and I need a clutch. I want to hear all opinions, pedal feel, clamping ability, and experience. I'm ready to buy one but not sure on which one I should get.
@elarm1
Can't help you with the clutch situation, but, post some effing pictures of that sweet ride of your with the motor in!!!! Please! Your car is an inspiration, even if it's an LX hatch
I only know how centerforce and FRPP does on a N/A 302 and they did very well IMHO. Don't know about how they do with a HCI nontheless a Vag like you have, I mean Vortech
OK srsly I have a spec 2 in mine and it chatters on take off, but that was on a used flywheel.. And IT DOES NOT SLIP. I think if I'd surfaced my flywheel it'd be ok. Centerforc slips at high torque low rpm situations because the weights don't work till you hit high rpms. Just a matter of design. Don't know of they make monster clutches for ford yet, but if they did I'd run them. My buddy with a 1500 HP camaro ran a monster single and it was awesome.

I was recommended this clutch by a drag racer friend of mine. He has had great success with them. They have the same kit in 26 spline if your using a 26spline tranny.
I have it mated up with an OEM '99-04 GTv8 clutch cable, and firewall mounted billet adjuster and its smooth as butter.
Handles what my car makes with drag radials great!
Thanks guys for the compliments! I too just look at it with a bottle of beer! @Boosted92LX Yes I shot myself in the foot. I'll take it off tonight and get her right but I sure missed that one! After I finish tucking the rest of the wires and painting my engine bay, the motor should be put in. About 2 weeks or so.
I think that is what I will go with. I see them for around 450 on CjPony. I can pick one up from my local performance shop for a little less so we'll see
