Build Thread Want To Blow 5 Years And $50k On A Foxbody? Step By Step Instructions Inside!

In other news, I finally got the tires put back on my wheels. Adjusting them to 6.75" of backspacing for the 18x9" wheels worked perfect. They fit great.

That is with almost all the camber available. There is about 1/4" of clearance to the upper subframe mount. I'm fine with that because the wheel moves towards the fender as the suspension compresses. I'll need to adjust the ride height as I add weight back to the car. It's sitting a bit low for my taste at the moment.

True Forged was great during the whole process. It did take a while to get the wheels back, but they were done right. They really are a stand up company. You certainly get what you pay for.

Hey Scott, if you get a chance, can you take a pic from behind/under the rear to show the clearance from the inside wheel/tire to the subframe mount, bolt, and coil over shock? I've got a lead on some 18" wheels that are 8" in front with a 38 offset and 9" in rear with a +45 offset which brings it to 6.77" BS (almost exactly like yours). I've got the same MM low profile bolt you have and plan to go coil over soon as well so I want to see how much clearance there should be with that setup.

I have a 1/4" of clearance to the subframe mount at my current ride height. I know I took a picture of it, I'll have to dig it up. When the suspension is in full droop on the lift, the 275 bfg tire does slightly rub the mount. As the suspension compresses, the wheel articulates out towards the fender, so the inner clearance only gets better.

Yup. The coil overs aren't even close to the tire. There is actually plenty of inner fender clearance. If I were to do it all over again, I would have fabbed a solid mount for the upper subframe to eliminate those bushings. That would have given me enough room to run a 10" wheel and a 295 tire.

Project anti-bling was a success. Painted pretty much all the parts I wanted to this weekend. I seriously love this wrinkle paint. It just has a unique look.

The only other part I may do is the alternator. I really don't want to take it apart, so I'll have to look into if it's okay to paint it while it's together. The only bling left in the engine bay should be the pulleys and accessory brackets. Here's the last picture I took when everything was together. Gives you an idea of what has been painted and what will stay.

I was stupid and paid extra to have the entire hoop polished.... yes, the inside is polished too....

Although on a toy car they are not that hard to keep clean. Currently in my closet for winter :)

My hoops are also polished on the inside. I'm still dealing with breaking in the new pads and rotors. Needless to say, the wheels come off and get cleaned/polished after every drive. Paint sealants don't work very well on aluminum, so I'm going to try some wax to see if that helps the cause.

Those are the best looking shoes in a closet I've ever seen. Any woman would be jealous.

Zoop seal. Works very well on aluminum.

I completely forgot about that thread. I read it before I bought my wheels. TF also offered it for sale when I bought them, but I told them I need to stop the bleeding in my wallet before I spend another dime on anything wheel related. It may be time to finally spend that sealant money.
