Hey guys I hope this is the right section for this but I was wondering if anyone had the dimensions for a rear seat delete in a fox hatch? I would prefer to build one of my own instead of buying it but all the places that sell them don't list the dimensions and won't give them to me when I ask, I understand why, they gotta make their profit. But if any of you guys would be able to help me out that would be awesome.

The typical method for that sort of fabrication is to first make cardboard templates, then cut the metal panels to fit. The cardboard is cheaper and easier to cut and trim to get right. You can even add a bit back on with tape if you cut too far.
I would agree. Doesn't save all that much weight and never looks right. Plus the interior is nosier without the rear seat absorbing some of the exhaust sounds
i appriciate the input guys, but my car doesnt have a rear seat at all, and i would rather do the delete than put a seat back in, regardless of the fit... plus my fox has turn downs on it so nothing is really going to help muffle the sound unless i put tail pipes on it. i was just wanting to see if anyone already had the measurements they would be willing to give me, i just had back surgery and cant really climb in the back of the car to cut out a cardboard template. again thanks guys
Back when I did it, you could buy the plans on ebay for like $10 came with paper templates.
Took about $50 to make the seat delete, took the same $50 to put the seat back in, $25 for the lower and then someone had all the nuts bolts etc together on ebay. I still had the upper half of the seat.

Yeah, they're spendy. I don't have any complaints though. Even their customer service is great.
Not giving measurements is more about the shape rather than lack of cooperation. You need to get some contours right, and that will depend on how close you cut it. 1/8 in MDF would be about as light as possible, and you still need to carpet or cover it. I would not plan on this unless I was going to blow out my ear drums with a monster speaker box. There would be no weight savings there.
Now on a newer Mustang with no rear seat leg room, I think a package shelf would be a good idea. They are almost 2 seaters already.
