Build Thread "Rising from Ashes" 94 Cobra build thread

Thanks! The radiator cover is easy...I can whip you one of those up but the side skirts are near impossible to find...I just happened to luck into these....and it was probably because buyers were scared off by the damage.

I'd be very interested in getting one of those covers, How much to get one? And can you powdercoat it? Those skirts are an Awesome find, they will look great when your done

You ever make those for a Fox? :O_o:

very nice... wonder if you would consider a fox body radiator cover and what that might cost

Yeah...it wouldn't be a problem to do some for foxes. I've got a couple foxbodies myself so it was on my list anyway. As far as cost...not sure until I make a couple. Would probably fall in the $150 to $200 range. I'll try to get one made up.

Thanks again...Yeah I can powder coat them. I just painted the last one because I had to match the engine bay color. I sell the 94-5s for $200. I'm also going to do them for foxes and 99-04's

Well...I started working on the 94 Cobra again.

I finally got around to making my radiator cover design into metal. These are not for my car but I will actually get around to making mine once I have all my orders filled.

I've also been busy making weld in engine bay panels and getting them in epoxy.

That one looks like a modified UPR cover which is the same thing I used to take measurements off of. I just added a little here and there and took a little away in some areas so it covered from fender to fender. Then took some off the front so it was flush with the header panel raised area, then closed off the front area of the latch.

One...Put me down for a fox radiator support cover
Two...You are wasting your talents on these 94-95 projects. You need to be building and making parts for foxes because very few people are still into 94-8s versus all the fox fans. Course I'm partial.
and finally....how many damn Mustangs do you have? I see two gorgeous foxes, a mach 1, boss and then a white and blue beautiful looking engine bay from yet another car. Can I ask...What you do for a living so I can get into that?

Hell, I'd like to have one even if it's primed for paint. :chin

Hmmmmm..... Flat black powder coat! :nice:

Edit: Just PM a PayPal account when you're ready. LOL The more I think about it, the more I like it.

Next edit: Let me know if you ever want to do group purchase threads. I can get the OK to do that in the classifieds without much effort at all.

Muatangjason. I got you down.
Noobzs347...thanks...flat black is no problem. I'll try to get one worked in and pics posted in the next two weeks....and I appreciate the offer on a group buy. These may be a prime candidate for that.

hey---- this is kind of what I am looking for as a reference.... MAC makes this for fox body mustangs out of SS for around $200

Yeah...I've not even seen that one before but if I'm going to do one...it needs to cover the entire area. The MAC one looks like it will leave some areas exposed. I'll probably also do a separate piece for the radiator hold down because everyone's seem to vary. My 94 cover fastens down using a nut on the hood bumpers so I'll probably do the same on these.

Not sure of the brand I took my measurements from but basically the same thing as you did except I didn't weld all the pieces together. I basically drew it out then cut it and bent it all up. Since my rad is recessed and I made a custom shroud I needed a little bit more overhang on the motor side.

Super easy to do and material is pennies, I still have the template if any SN guys want I can mail ya one, all in all about a two hour job plus paint.

Yeah..my radiator is in the same spot. Good ole turbo guy's trick. I moved a fan to the front though to try and hide the thing behind the bumper and get a little more room

I've patterned out what my fox radiator cover will look like. Should get one made by next week and I'll drill the hood bumper holes. You could also drill the holes for the stock radiator hold downs if you got bling there already.
This is just a mesh of some already out

I'll probably make a few at once and then move onto something else. So if interested... Let me know on the next week. Should have a finished metal one n
ext week if I get some time.

Few coats of 2k make the side skirts look a little better.

Also messed around with a variation of Competition Orange for the mach 1.

Then got some smoothing done on a couple intakes I'm working on. The Saleen intake is going on the engine I'm building for it and the Spyder is going on the 408 I'm building for my 88 T-Top.

Hey just checking In to see how the cobra is coming along. Keep up the good work

nice to see you back on your own car for at least a little while. good work on those svo skirts

Thanks for checking back in.
I actually went and got my 94 out of its tomb/hibernation last week, blew the dust off and got it back in the shop.

Got one side skirt mocked up. These SVO side skirts seem to hook out a hair on the ends so I'm going to fiberglass in some more material and then shave it down to flush fit the car better.

Also got the other side in primer and fitted as well..it needs a little more fiberglass here and there for a clean tight fit as well. I'll get that done before the next primer round.

Will also be working on the spoiler and it needs some serious body work as well as a 1/4 inch taken off one side.
