I have a 1966 A Code Mustang Convertible. I purchased a 1966 6cyl car as a parts car. We moved the steering column over but the original wheel was in pretty bad shape so I purchased a new standard wheel from CJ Pony. The original old wheel was a woodgrain wheel and mounts differently than the new wheel. The new wheel has all the parts integrated into the wheel. The new wheel does not go on far enough to make contact and function, it's not just how it looks. Please help.

You can loosen up your column clamp and slide the sleeve up and down to adjust that gap somewhat. The shaft will stay fixed position which is what the steering wheel is mounted to and the sleeve will move along with all the parts mounted under the wheel such as the blinker assembly and horn contacts.
