I hit the curb exactly sideways going about 35. It was a hard hit that I had zero control over. The side airbag came out of the driver's seat, and I immediately thought the car was totaled. After getting the car home though, I realized she will be ok with some TLC. Here is some of the carnage, all of which is already replaced.

Nothing new to report, I just snapped this pic last night and thought I'd share. I love the truck's stance.

I love the truck, and the wheels. Have a set of staggered chrome ones going on my baby soon.:nice:

does that thing have drop i beams?

Yeah drop I beams, and cut coils. The plan is for air ride in the spring, so I can get the ride height higher (less rubbing), and then adjust as I see fit, and lay it down when parked. I figure, why not?

And Ragged, I will eventually get around to that video. Life has been busy with work, kids, and selling our house. When the tires are wasted, I need to be able to have the new ones mounted right away, as the truck is my winter DD.

Had I hurt the Mustang having fun like I was in the truck, I would find it much easier to accept. Being I was just driving down the street to work and hydroplaned, I agree that at minimum there should be a dislike button. But since it happened in October, it couldnt have worked out much better that I have my little hot rod winter truck to drive while the repairs are on going in my garage. This weekend I worked on swapping a direct replacement axle assembly I bought from a local Mustang salvage shop. While I had the axle assembly by itself on jack stands, I took the opportunity to pull the axles out, and swap the new brackets for my big brake upgrade Ive had laying around for the better part of a year. After that was accomplished, I swapped it under the car. I still need to paint my calipers, slap in the new pads, and fab up my adjustable panhard bar like I did for the Ranger. Here are some pics from my weekend fun.

New(er) assembly in the car.

Difference in stock rear rotors, and the new ones. Its been a long time since I bought it, but I think they are either 14.5 or 15 inch rotors.

Well for those that care, heres an update. The Mustang is back on its feet, and the Ranger is officially done for. I put 20X10's on front and rear of the Mustang, 275's front, 285's in drag radial form in the rear. Other than needing to have my seat sewn back together from deploying the air bag, the Mustang is better than it was before the accident. As for the truck, its awesome bondo work has all shaken loose and fallen out, and I may or may not have blown the engine. Not a big deal, because I plan to pull the engine/trans and transfer it into an Explorer, so now it will be getting a fresh rebuild before going in. No pics of the Explorer yet, but that will come. Here are a couple of the Mustang, and the side that was damaged to boot. I know it needs waxed horribly, so ignore that. It was pretty rewarding doing all the work myself, and keeping the cost down.

Funny that Mike and I clutter up the Mustang board with our non Mustang projects, but as long as everyone is cool with it, then why not I guess. I didnt plan to start a thread about the Explorer, but I'll take pics as I go, and see if it seems worth talking about. That wont start until mid summer though, as we just moved into a new house and I have a long list of projects already.

When I was at my tuner's shop in Houston a guy came up to me and asked if I wanted a good cam for boost. After asking him about it, he told me it was in a turbo explorer.. lol he said it made 780 rwhp. I asked him why the heck he did that with an explorer and he said it was pricless destroying corvettes and shelbys on the street with a box. He said it was hilarious! I can only imagine how much fun that was.... I'd love to see yours.

@RaggedGT , the Ranger doesnt really look like anything. It looked super straight when I bought it, and when I felt under the fenders I was feeling nice smooth inner fenders, not the actually bondo'd outter fender. The guy I bought it from had a big climate controlled shop that he kept his toys in, but one winter in my ownership and its fillings fell out of its teeth. It just looks like your standard flame job painted '85 Ranger with rusty fenders and cab corners. When I swapped in the news trans, I also found that the trans tunnel was nearly rusted through. I just dont feel like F'in with it anymore. I got my use out of it, and will transfer the fun stuff to a vehicle that allows me to haul my chillins around easier in the winter. @Boosted92LX , I am going to settle for either a fresh 351, or maybe an aluminum headed 408w if I can stash the cash for it by late summer. It will remain carbed, because I just dont have the time to sort out swapping computers from an older Explorer with fuel injection, and sorting through wiring harnesses, etc. F all that. @02 281 GT , here is the only pic I have of the Explorer, just taken out of my upstairs window.

The plan is the engine/trans swap, and wheels and tires first. Once that is done, there is a simple 2.5" suspension lift and it will look about like this:

That is where I will consider it done, and drive it as a daily.
