I Have Had Enough With Ford!

I find it hard to believe that somebody that's an ASE Master Tech won't just fix it on their own. Why go through all the headache of rentals, lousy techs working on your car and being without your vehicle all the time? If the warranty is not worth the paper it's printed on then ask to get your ESP refunded and fix your own car! I never buy warranties because they're bogus.

I didn't fix it myself because I purchased a car with factory warranty. The ESP was there only to cover the rental. The was and still is under factory 3 year/36k basic warranty. Why would anyone who is making payments on a new car want to put money out of their own pocket and their own time into fixing something that is the responsibility of the manufacturer to fix correctly. You buy a brand new TV from best buy, it breaks the next day. Just because you could probably fix it yourself, would you? I wouldn't. That's what warranty is for.

Okay so the rear end is now officially toast. It is growling like you wouldn't believe. So loud inside that you can clearly hear it on the phone talking to someone. Take a look.

I dropped it off this morning. They of course gave me a super hard time about the rental even though I have coverage with Ford ESP.

They just called me back as I was posting this and told me to pick it up. They say the parts are National backorder and they are putting in a 5th ring gear and 7th bearing set.... I don't understand why Ford doesn't just send them a complete unit already.

Truth. It's time they pulled one off the line and got it packed up for shipping. This has been ongoing since when now?
You have any lemon law ammo in your state?

Seriously?

That's what I feel they should do. The growl is new, it was always just a whine before. But I knew it would inevitably turn into a growl as the gears were obviously not setup correctly. Anyway, now I just get to drive around with a messed up car as usual. YAY.... :cautious:... Its been going on since April of last year. I honestly just want the car fixed. I don't want them to lemon it.

Lemon it if you can and just get a new one if possible. Regardless of the initial physical maintenance problem, it appears that they (Ford collectively) have compounded what might have been an easy fix.

Here's your car back. We don't have the parts to fix it. Once we get the parts, we will call you. Only thing is: When you come back? We won't have the parts on hand to fix all the other stuff that's being torn up between now and then. Thanks for your patience. Please come again.

Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking too. At this point those axles have to be scored up.

I would be contacting a lawyer by now... If you have a contract (ESP) and not getting anywhere, that's what the law is for.
I'd also tack on that they pay your legal fees when you win your case. Nothing like sitting down in a dealership with your lawyer present. Sadly I had to do that once with a Ford (Mustang) as well and it all worked out for the better.

But, I hate to say it... any brand (Ford, Honda, Toyota, Chevy) will have issues. They all get their parts from the same manufacturers. That's why we're seeing record high recalls.... If one company makes a bad part, it affects all the brands.

Good luck!

This sounds like a pretty horrific story, and I'd utterly hate to be dropping my car off for repairs as often as you have in this thread. Good luck to you sir and I hope this works itself out somehow. That said, I wouldn't swear off Fords just because of this horrific instance. Look at all your other perfrectly good Fords. I WOULD, however, swear off those dealerships you've been going to once this dibacle ends!
