For the O.G. Fox fans who was making waves at the time in the aftermarket when they were rolling off the assembly line? Is it pretty much the same manufactures we have now? How are the leaders of yesteryear fairing today? What's seen the most improvement through the years, the power or suspension department? Do yall remember when dyno tuning became accessible to the common man? Was it revolutionary?

In the 80's it was all about bolt ons. Shorty headers, flowmasters, pulleys,Hypertech chip,k&n filter, ford motorsports, etc. Alum heads started coming into play around the early 90's but they were few and far between. Paxton and Vortech blowers were the popular go to and a few nitrous cars. I remember when you could get a blower for under 2k. Popular suspension was eibach, steeda and maximum motorsports.

The first aluminum headed mustang I saw in person was the early 90's and they were canfields. I remember when summit first started advertising the trick flow twisted wedges. It only took me 20 years to actually buy some. Lol

When these cars were still being made, Special Vehicle Operations (now Ford Performance) was pretty much the only name in the game. We waited with huge anticipation for the new catalog to come out every year. There wasn't any aftermarket at all in the beginning. Everyone was sure that newfangled EFI garbage would destroy the muscle car market. The most improvement has been in the tuning realm. Back then, we could only mess with the timing, TPS, and fuel pressure. Now, your average joe can self tune an outlaw car with his laptop.

Fwiw, UPR has been in the suspension business since the 90s. :)
