You are making a nice car, too nice of a car for the thread title. So giving you some crap helps balance it out.

It was a previous poster refered who the wheel cylinders incorrectly. So someone comes in and insists on buying a pair of slave cylinders, and then chews the counterman out that they do not fit - at the rear wheels. It makes for an annoying day. At least if someone demands a Dizzy, you can send them outside to spin around in the parking lot till they fall down.

Geez man I am so sorry for misspeaking, I did accidently call shoes pads, which I am aware of the difference..if you'll go back and read my post you'll see that I did refer to the other parts as wheel cylinders, and not slave cylinders. Although, if you want to get technical, a wheel cylinder IS a slave cylinder as it is driven by a MASTER CYLINDER. Get it? Slave? Master? That's where the terminology comes from. And ive owned 4 wheel drum cars too, but you are special, so I'll give you a golf clap...

NOW, can we knock off the know it all pis sing matches and get back to the topic?

Yeah the thread title has a lot to do with this car in comparison to the first car I sold ahead of it..

and I hate the term dizzy as well.

Cutting out a spot to patch..

I cut out a patch panel and welded it in here. Tried to weld it in here, actually. I used new 16 gauge for the patch. The old floor pan was so thin tying the patch in to it felt like 1/2 plate next to sheet metal.. and I'm not a bad welder. I really didn't want to cut the entire pan out, so, I stitched it in there trying not to blow too many holes and my son painted and sealed it up with this stuff:

Eastwood seam sealer. Works like a champ. i highly recommend it for hard to reach panels or stuff too difficult to seal weld.

We are going to do the front pans this weekend, hopefully.

Dizzy annoys me too. Laughed pretty good over them spinning around the parking lot and falling down. Good one.

Actually, both are slave cylinders. Any cylinder in a hydraulic system that turns hydraulic pressure into linear motion is a slave cylinder whether clutch, brake, or none of the above. One that creates hydraulic pressure from linear motion would be a master cylinder. Those names apply to their function within a hydraulic system and not what part of the machine that they're attached to. Refer to the definition of slave cylinder for more info.

I appreciate the title,......call it what it is. He had the choice for a really nice notch to start with and chose to blow that choice off for a truck. The current "platform" is appropriately named, cause it's far from a sweetie. I too would have blown it off had it said "My 80-93 build up thread".

I pi ss off a couple of goobers over at FEP because I refer to a Fairmont as an ugly assed future date w/ the crusher, and obviously call my own a monster,....I say you're good.

And you are right about its function. They have just never been labeled, cataloged or sold that way. So when Joe off the street does not know which they are really asking for, you have to wonder if they could even begin to get the air bubbles out. The OP obviously is more qualified than that.

SCORE! I was over at My buddy's house last night to pick up a part for a member here, and was voicing my despair over losing all of my pictures of this build, when he got an odd look on his face. "Come with me", says he. We walk into his home office, and on his desktop is a file with all of my pictures! I had texted them to him, and he backed them up. I gotta take back fussing about his camera ability, because man, this fella made my day:

I'm pretty sure I texted them to him from a Samsung Note II. I don't recall emailing any to anyone. He dropped em on a thumb drive for me and I downloaded them to my desktop.

It doesn't get any better than that.
