Drivetrain I Need Big Help! Please, Keep Blowing Starter Solenoid

Awesome. glad to have helped. Dont take my remark about the wiring personal... just looking out for your safety as that type of wiring can lead to all sorts of problems. The FOMOCO solenoid is the only one I've found that lasts- I even get them from the JY for $5 instead of buying new aftermarket.

Nice just 5 min ago I was thinking about that particular brand cause my solenoid stuck once out of five starts so I'll check in today.

None taken personal lol, I know it's bad. All the color wire I added either for fan controller, tachometer, or ground. Neither done with professionalism. The original wiring was already a mess when I bought it from previous owner

best advice I can give with wiring is

  • patience patience patience
  • replace any worn or damaged wiring.
  • solder all connections and cover with shrik wrap
  • lay out the wiring route first before cutting
  • USE THE APPROPRIATE SIZE WIRE for the load and length of wire
  • Cover wiring with wire loom or sheath
  • Use appropriate inline size fuse for load and length on e fans, alternators, etc.
  • make sure all ground cables are shiny, tight, and clean
  • do not use schosche or other jumper connections- they come apart

Let me know if I can be of help....

Thank you, I'm going to get my battery checked tomorrow. But I will jump the solenoid at the big posts with a screwdriver as a bypass, to see if problem lies with the ignition switch

pull the wire off the S terminal and see if the car stops cranking. if it continues you have a problem with the switch.
Then I do then, cause I've done that several times and it still cranks. The two yellow ignition wires melted and are touching. I tested by getting continuity between them. I came across it doing testing other night
