I want this color for paint. But I am not sure what the color is called.

That's definitely not a stock fox body color. Go to a body shop or look online(PPG,house of color, etc). A body shop tends to have examples they could give/show you.

It could also be "wild strawberry metallic" which is an awesome Fox color

I don't know man, they are similar, but redfire has a ton of gold flake in it, giving it that kandy look. Wild strawberry is a great color too... I don't think it has that much gold though..

I've drooled over redfire for a while, currently trying to talk a friend into letting me paint his car that color.. lol.

My cousin had a LX in that color. This picture doesn't look like that. But it's hard to tell in the pic for sure. Do agree that wild strawberry metallic is an awesome color though.

Ford has had many nice metallic reds over the years

Wild Strawberry
Electric Red
Laser Red
Redfire
Red Candy
Ruby Red (current metallic red offered)

It looks lie Redfire or Ruby Red to me.

^^^Your best advice is right there.

It's doubtful that a big money drag car like that received an off the shelf factory color paint job. There are thousands of colors and that color could have started with a stock "redfire" or "xyz" color and then they could have tinted it further to make it a one-off color.

Eating paint chips will put you in the lead. Or is it full of lead?

Mom (a quilter) says it is a custom candy apple red with gold metalic flakes, and my other car needs to be that color.

LOL!! Some of these are cracking me up... Thanks for chiming in folks. I now have a few great colors to choose from instead of trying to pin this one down alone.
