Howdy fellas! My names Rich and I just picked a new '15 GT. Nothing sexy about it right now, just a blank canvas.....that'll be changing real quick.

Currently it's the lowest HP vehicle in the garage, so we gotta work on that. Right now it's the grade schooler trying out for the varsity team.

Anyways, here's a few shots of the new toy. Just picked it up on Monday, so I'm still getting the feel for it. SO far, I'm REALLY impressed with it for a stock car.

Definitely have a plan or two for her....she's the only thing without a turbo right now, so that's gotta change.

This should give ya and idea what is likely in store for this thing....

The truck puts 1551 hp to the tires. This was on the old single GT4718 and 2 stages of nitrous. I have it ripped apart right now doing a triple turbo setup on it with a pair of FMW S467's feeding a FMW S472....

'70 Chevelle with a 496, backed with a 'glide and a Precision PT101. This puts 1038 hp to the wheels....

The 88 GT puts 890 hp to the tires. Don't shoot me, it is an LS swap with a 4L80 and a BW S475/87/1.10....

Right now the '15 is the "daily". lol

Looks like you have your hands full!

Yeah, I need to take myself to school on this motor, it's definitely not the platform I'm used to. This will be the first time I've dug into one of the 5.0's,

Ultimately, the goal for this thing is gonna be 600 hp on the street and 800 on the track. That's what I've found to be about the useful limits on street tires and stock suspension before you just waste tires every time you smash on it.

On the ET Streets, the '88 can run up around 14 psi before it gets ingnorant on the street. On the track, with slicks, it gets turned up to 22 psi.

With the Chevelle it can only run about 6 psi on the street before it knocks the tires off when you stab it vs 20 psi on the track with the slicks.

The truck.....yeah, forget it, unless it's in 4wd it's useless on the road. On the single 4718 I run it up around 60 psi with 2 kits on top of that. You can be going 80 mph, stab it and it still unloads the tires. The triples I'm building on it right now with be pushing ~83 psi turned down and up to 110 psi on kill. It'll have enough fuel and air for 1600-1800 hp.

We'll see....I got a whole lotta learning to do on this 5.0.

First of the couple small things showed up today. If the rear springs for '88 get here, I'll pull that off the lift and get these on the '15. We'll see if this kills a bit of the wheel hop.

Finally got a day that it hasn't rained since I got it. Cleaned 'er up a bit, tossed it in the lift and put the bushing kit on. Noticeable difference when you smash on it in 1st through 3rd. The rear doesn't feel like it's chasing itself around any more and all it did was bark the tires when I grabbed the next gear.

No change to ride quality at all. I'd say it's money well spent so far, but I'll get a better feel for it at the track.

Did the bushings before Borla s-type or atak??? Priorities!!! Heheheh

The exhaust will definitely be milder than that. I've had / have my share of obnoxiously loud cars / trucks and that gets old REAL fast. I like to hear it, but I don't like to be annoyed by it.

If anything it'll get something like a Magnaflow street exhaust. Just enough to uncork it, but not enough to be obnoxious everyday.

It's interesting to see the difference from one of these cars to another, I have yet to personally experience even the slightest bit of wheel hop in my car or the stick car that I drove. I'm less than polite with the loud pedal and with my car it just annihilates the tires with no signs of trouble like Ive had with the cobra IRS in the past. Even in stock form, I never experienced any wheel hop. Going to the track with sticky tires after the weather breaks here in NJ but I don't expect to have any issues at all with the stock suspension

It's not bad on the street, but as soon as I put it on the track and really got down on it, it showed up big.

I'm gonna put some radials on it and see if it helps at all before I get deeper into the suspension, but all that hopping just ain't gonna cut it. That's what breaks stuff.

Snatched that stupid sound tube off the car. Now it doesn't sound like the car has alternator whine from a bad stereo install in the cabin anymore. I tell ya what though.....that little 10mm nut down on the firewall is a royal PITA to get. You either need to have arms the size of a 4 year old or be a contortionist.

Looks much better without that garbage. Whoever the genius was that thought this thing needed that tube needs to get his calculator shoved up his .......

Then we headed to the track to do some tuning on the 88. It was hooking good on new 275 Pro's....

Wish we had weather like this^^ in NJ... Now I'm depressed, Thanks!

DId you run the '15 at all? Just curious as to some base line numbers at the track before it gets upgrades, also was wondering if the bushings you installed helped your wheel hop at the track?
