Build Thread The Hoopty Chronicles - New House, New garage, New Car?

Need some clutch input here diagnosing what could be happening -

The clutch seems to adjust itself while driving - meaning the disengagement point moves around in the pedal throw. Usually, it begins to grab about 1" off the floor. Sometimes it will randomly change so that it starts to grab towards the end of the throw just before you take your foot off the pedal. Another thing that happens when the engagment point move towards the end is the pedal gets lighter towards the floorboard.

My guess is the quadrant/pawl is bad and I need to buy an aftermarket piece. Am I on the right track, or did I wiff it and miss something completely?
I Have a quadrant you can have if you wanna drive down and get it... upr i think..

Need to replace the lower windshield moulding as well as the cowl. They're broken, but overall, the car looks fantastic now.

I broke down on the side of the road for the first time today. The car started getting hot, so I turned the radio down and couldn't hear the fans at all. (They're VERY easy to hear.) I pulled over and after digging around in the dark for a few minutes, I figured out that the grounds had melted. I had them twisted together and then butt spliced to a single larger gauge that attached to the frame rail. For whatever reason, they melted. Upon closer inspection, there was a lot of corrosion on the wires, leading me to believe that it had been like that for a while, which would explain the odd behavior of the fans randomly.

I patched it back together only using 1 fan and got to work. I guess I'll be re-engineering my wiring tonight. I will solder and use heat shrink tubing on everything as opposed to using butt splices this time around as well. You'd have thought that 4 years as an electronics tech offshore would have taught me better...

That is one of the last things I need to order(elec fans) and a mm cable/quadrant etc. Sounds like you have another weekend to-do project. It's hard to keep these 25 year old things together. Can't imagine daily driving one lol

It really hasn't given me any problems the last few months. This issue seems to be something that I have caused, so I really can't blame the car there. Still averaging ~250 miles/tank, so it runs well!

I'be taken the first step to retiring the fox from DD duty. Went to the bank and got a loan request form for something Mike will most likely call a belly button. But oh well.

The fox is excruciatingly slow and has proven itself fragile. I shouldn't have to cringe when I hit bumps, should i? Houston streets are smooth as a pubescent teens face.

I found a car that fits my liking, waiting to hear back from the owner about a few undeclared details. Will post pics whenever something materializes.

Anyone in the portage, Indiana area? @tannerc91gt

Almost drove to portage for some wheels a couple days ago. It's in the NW corner of Indiana. Pretty much Chicago.

You wouldn't happen to have eibach sport lines on there do you?

Ahhh, caving into the temptation of making monthly pymts on a hotrod in a box are we?

Before you do that, let me help you w/ a reality check.

For the next week you need to follow this regimen exactly.

Get a chart, and label it APR, MAY, JUN, JUL, AUG, OCT.

Now, over the next 6 days, you are going to "bend time" so to speak.

Tomorrow will be "APR"

Get up, and immediately pinch yourself. Not real hard, just a little twink.

The day after get up and pinch the pi ss outta yourself.

The day after that, (you may need somebody to do this for you) put a piece of duct tape on the hairiest part of your body, and rip it off.

The next day slap yourself across the face, no wussin out, give yourself a real btch slap.

On the next day shut your finger in the door.

Lastly on this day, take the heel of your shoe, and back-kick yourself against your other shin.

There, all done?

You just recreated what it's like to have to make only 6 400+ monthly pymts. It'll be up to you to endure the other 42-54-66-78 months for the sake of not having to drive a slow assed, fragile fox.;)

That's the primary reason I decided against buying an '11-'14 Mustang. Although I would like to have one very much, I like not having a car payment even more.
