Build Thread The Hoopty Chronicles - New House, New garage, New Car?

Well... Im borrowing the money from a relative until I can get the car and title here. Im approved for the loan @ 2.24% which is killer. So, it'll all pan out. Just a PITA.
Gotta say, that's the first time I ever heard of having to buy the car before the bank will make a loan to buy the car. Most banks have the proper stuff in place to secure the title w/o ever having to see it based on the VIN.
Tell the Tex Dow employee credit union that you know a guy that wants the loan officer to "Say My Name".

Yeah, basically set up for local purchases only. Ridiculous.

Original owner, ordered it with all options except glass roof and shaker 1000. Has a lot of nice mods, but he's building a drag car and needs to make room.

Cannot fault you for wanting that car and driving a distance to get it. Hope the deal works out for you. What are the list of mods besides the obvious appearance ones we can see in the pics?

With the car being so far away have you received a start up & walk around video of it?
No, but I've talked to the guy on the phone many times and ran a carfax report. It's legit. Since November of 2013, it's only been driven 600 miles. He's a professional auto detailer so I'd venture to say that it's cleaner than showroom condition.

Normally i'm not really a big fan of that body style 10'-14' or so but occasionally I come across one that's been tastefully modded (like the one you're interested in) and it makes me think about acquiring one. A 6 speed trans humping a Coyote would turn my frown upside down 7 days a week! Good luck bro!

Thanks man! I'll still have the fox to play with. About to pull it apart to fix leaks, replace a throwout bearing, and repaint bumpers. Might be a good looking car once it's all done!

I do have some bad news to report. I had to cannibalize my 351 project to offset the crazy costs that have bubbled up to go get this coyote. Just to switch my flights around this weekend cost $670. (We are going to be in Vegas for a wedding and are now flying to Chicago to get the car). Then we needed a room in Chi town for the night, taxi fares, food, and fuel to get home. It's going to cost us about a grand, so the 351 had to go. Fortunately I was able to part it out within a day and made back $925. Still have a lot more parts to go, may just hang on to them for another day.

Looking forward to the arrival of hoopty's new ride! I've seen a few pics of the road trip back and it is a nice car. Can't wait to see it in person!

1200 mile solo trip in just under 24 hours. Just got to work since I didn't request off today, LOL. I am a tired dude.

So after 2 weeks, I drove the fox to work today. A couple of things to note:

1) Having a 5 and 6 speed car can cause much confusion when it is early and the driver is not fully awake yet.
2) Fox clutch still sucks.

I think you've begun the descent of a slippery slope at the bottom of which is the selling of the fox. That is a really sweet 2011, though.

Believe it or not, I have formed an attachment to the fox. I still have a lot of things I want to do to it, especially now that I don't have to keep it road worthy 100% of the time. Once I fix the paint and leaks, I want to build my own rear suspension setup. @Boosted92LX got the ball rolling a while back with some DIY control arms, and I'd like to do a PHB and a torque arm.
