Build Thread Want To Blow 5 Years And $50k On A Foxbody? Step By Step Instructions Inside!

Thanks guys.

imachine, I do try to look on the bright side that things could have been way worse. I'm just hoping that all is well now. The tune is nailed down enough that I shouldn't have any issues with washing the cylinders anymore.

Wcs1993, the housing is an aluminum one from Jegs, I believe ($60ish). I cut the neck down and had my welder weld the 16AN fitting on the top. I think CSR makes AN housings, but they were nearly $200.

Oh, as for updates go... I'm just waiting on the new twin disc to be shipped out. In the meantime, I found a Cartech two-piece upper intake manifold. I've always been fond of them, and not many people have boxed uppers. It should move my powerband up a little to keep things tame at the lower rpms on the street. It will also make the engine bay look a little cleaner. My plan is to have the lettering on the top machined off and then get it hydrodipped along with the valve covers. I'm darkening everything up in the engine bay, so I may go with a subtle carbon fiber look. We shall see!

Not much car activity lately. I worked on a little side project though. My other half and I celebrated an anniversary yesterday. Decided to make her some flowers instesd of buying her a dozen real ones that would die in a week. She liked them quite a bit. The idea isn't original. Got it from the guy over at Cold Hard Art. They were a lot of fun to make. Came out quite well!

So, because I hate myself, I decided to polish the cobra tailpipes. You can see them pretty well under the car when looking at it from behind. I hate polishing, a lot. I managed to get through one of them though. Sanded with 80, 180, 320, 400, 600, 1000. Then hit it with 2 stages of Adam's metal polish. Did I mention I hate polishing?

I also had the top plate of the intake machined down. It used to say "CARTECH 5.0" and had raised ribs on each side. Too busy looking for me. The intake will be sandblasted and then hydrodipped next week hopefully.

I spent a huge amount of time on Sunday scrolling through this thread. I had forgotten that you were running a 331 and (what hasn't been changed) the HP kit. I washed cylinder number 1 on mine and am using it as an excuse to rebuild with a DART block. Not to bite your style, but much of your billed mirrors what I have and the things I will need to upgrade for the new motor (Turbo, injectors fuel pump etc.). If you don't mind, I'll probably hit you up with some questions over the next few months. I'm getting different word about injector size, turbo size and everything else. Then again, I was only shooting for around 650 and found that I can safely get more out of the set-up.

It's always great when you can have an excuse to blow money on go fast parts! Feel free to send me a message anytime.

The valve covers are done. Nick was right.

Just kidding! I'll be doing some kind of carbon pattern on them. It will go nicely with the dark theme I'm shooting for in the engine bay. I'm just having a hell of a time picking a nice pattern. Wish I wasn't so picky sometimes.

The valve covers are actually mine. It represents the money I have been putting in every car but the mustang. Ok, they are actually for Little Wayne's "Make it Rain" mustang. The seats are made out of a highly cleanable vinyl.
