Progress Thread My Kenne Bell Twin Screw'd Foxbody thread, (new addition to the family)

I'm thinking toward the end of March is when I'll be able to install PiMP and start tuning. I've been working OT lately which is nice but takes time away from wrenching but gotta make it in order to spend it.

Still need to:
wire up wideband o2
wire up engine grounds from trunk to block (waiting on wire, should be next week), block to body
vacuum lines, some need to be extended
bolt up fenders, install hood and align
weld up some random holes in floor pan (need to fill up my C25)
install sound dampening material on floor
install carpet, seats and console assembly (i'll upgrade and finish interior as I drive throughout the summer)
install new 6 pc headlight set
restab dizzy, stupid MSD doesn't label #1 plug on the cap so I got it wrong. I have the stock dizzy, why am I not using it?
fire her up!!

anybody have info on a good DIY steering alignment? @RacEoHolic330 @84Ttop ?

I've always eye balled my alignments... Scotts system is way more techincal. I always trailer my cars for the initial setup

My update is there is no update  I've worked 7 days a week for the past few weeks but making great over time! I'm needing a break from it soon though but most likely will have to work the next two weekends coming up. It's either feast or famine so I'll take it while I can get it.

That's how my summer is shaping up also. Going to make some bank but no time to work on the toy.
I have plenty of time to finish up my Coupe and still have plenty of Summer to enjoy driving it. I have a list of projects, some for my family and some for my own person satisfaction, and it will cost me a bit to accomplish them and that's where OT is nice to have. I realize now that to have a long term car build (that really never ends) you need to have a comfortable work area that you WANT to work in.

My own personal projects to get done this summer:
1) Blow in insulation in my garage attic and walls which all have ZERO insulation right now (i'll have to drill holes in my wall)
2) Run 240v out to my garage and order me a real air compressor, a 4 hp 60 gallon unit putting out about 15 scfm @ 40psi
3) Epoxy coat my garage floor
4) A Mr Heater natural gas 80k BTU garage heater, I'll be able to finally work year round in my garage!!
5) Start framing a 12'x16' storage shed in my back yard to put my dirt bikes and other chit in. Anything under 200sqft doesn't require a building permit, fuk the gubment!

I too want to improve my garage before next winter and have been thinking about building a shed. I also just joined a musky fishing league/tournament series. Which is my other passion. I still plan on having my car done so I can enjoy it this summer.

Only thing I got done on the Coupe this weekend was running my alternator wire to my solenoid. Had to get a longer wire at the store to run it cleanly while being hidden and also some vacuum line extensions. I still have a list of little detail things to finish up but instead I focused this weekend on working OT, playing with the kids and ALL the other kids that came over for pizza and movie night and got some yard work done.

I did get a new sub-panel installed in my garage, 3 new receptacles in the garage and 240v ran to the side of my house for my new compressor. New compressor should arrive today and hopefully I should be installing it this evening. I need to start running my rigid lines and traps which will take some time.

I hear Ya, Life tends to get in the way lol I have a couple kids myself and they take precedence over my Mustang a majority of the time-I've been pulling the bad transmission for two months now,and still haven't started lol. The updates to your garage sound like a nice upgrade to your work space. Hope it all goes well

Thanks bro.

As much work as I have put into this car and there is still a lot more to go I realized not too long ago that my work space needed to improve in quality and in comfort. My tool storage needed to be more useful and organized. I needed a central air system that kept up with my air tools and provided clean dry air. Most of all I need to be warm since it's cold in Spokane Wa from late October to April.

Improving my work space is now taking priority over the Mustang build.

Under no circumstances connect the two 10 gauge black/orange wires to the 3G alternator. If the fuse blows in the 4 gauge wire, the two 10 gauge wires will be overloaded to the point of catching fire and burning up the wiring harness.

Here is the reasoning behind using only a single 4 gauge fused power feed to the alternator. If you use the two 10 gauge black/orange wires in addition to the 4 gauge wire, you have two fused power feed paths. The total current capacity of the wiring is the sum of the fused paths. The 4 gauge path is fused for 125 amps, and the two 10 gages wires are fused for 60 amps. That is a total of 185 amps, which exceeds the capacity of the alternator. Overload can occur without the fuses blowing, damaging the alternator.

I saw your post under the LMR vendor forum. Should I completely remove the (2) 10 gauge black/orange wires from my 3g alt and from the starter solenoid? The diagrams you post still show them hooked up to the solenoid even with a 3g alternator and the fused 4 gauge wire.

You missed the yellow wire connected to the black/orange wires...

The yellow wire is the reason you do not remove or disconnect the black/orange wires from the starter solenoid. It is the voltage sense wire that helps keep the alternator voltage within a limited range. If the voltage at the solenoid side of the battery drops off too low, the sense wire tells the voltage regulator to increase the alternator output voltage. It works the other way too. if the voltage is too high, it tells the voltage regulator to decrease the alternator output voltage.

Took me and two other guys to unload this out of my truck. Finally got a real air compressor. Husky is pretty much a rebranded campbell/hausfeld and Home Depot has an excellent return policy. Anyways, 4hp, 60 gallon, 155 psi max & nearly 14scfm @40 psi will run my air tools just fine. Now it's time to start running some black iron air pipe, drains and water traps.

My events of the weekend.

Checked out the Amsoil Ricky Carmichaels road the the Supercross (Arenacross) race this weekend....lots of fun!
IMAG2800.jpg

Then after a beer or two and lots of exhaust fumes I got to work on the Fox. I finally got a white board and made a list of things to do. Believe it or not this helps a lot with progress! It's all about being organized.
IMAG2803.jpg

As you can see from things crossed out I'm slowly but surely getting there. I started fab'ing my ignition coil bracket today but ran out of time before I got a chance to weld it.

@jrichker
I got this plug for the ignition coil from LMR, why does it have two green/yellow wires when my car only has one?
Do I connect all the g/y wires together? Is my car missing a wire?
IMAG2802.jpg

Thanks for you help!
The stock 87-93 wiring only has one green wire. The other wire should be covered with shrink tubing and kept in reserve for the time when you need switched power for a gauge or accessory.
