Short version... last summer i traded my fox for a 67 coupe, my son ( who i got the car to bond with) hated it and missed the fox, so today i traded the 67 for a much nicer fox.

Here she is, my 89 Gt vert with only 77000 on her. Only mods ever done were mufflers, pony rims, and the style bar, the rest is completely bone stock.

Took my son "who is 4" for his first ride in it and he was in the back yelling " I love this big big car!! it's fast!!!"

i'm pretty happy with the deal, the car is hands down the nicest mustang i've owned. Just gotta change some window bushings for that rear window motor, probably gonna paint the style bar black, asides from that i'm just gonna drive it, i'll start with basic stuff like subframes come winter.

Don't know if you're other fox was also a vert, but there's nothing quite like showing off with the roof down (at least for the 2 weeks in spring and 2 weeks in fall around here when it's not tool cold, or to hot to do so). I'm going Sunday driving tomorrow in mine... but since I have some nice country back roads not too far away it's not gonna be particularly slow.

In my limited experience I have found that general appreciation for the foxes has increased over recent years and I'll often get people expressing their appreciation, asking questions, or wanting to talk mods and upgrades. There's definitely different camps for the foxes. Some still appreciate a nice stock fox (like mine), and others are really into mods. Both are equally fine perspectives, just don't let the opinions of others persuade you either way. Either one, or somewhere inbetween, depending on your goals and budget are all good. Just enjoy it. My son is now 9 and loves riding in the mustang. I heard him telling one of his friends that when he grew up he'd get it get it from me. Not sure where he got that idea from?

Yeah, I've owned 4 verts total. The last one was a 92 but wasn't as nice, it was a lx, it needed paint and a top and also had 200k on the clock but had full exhaust , Maf upgrade, injectors, gears, draglights and was lowered. So it had cool stuff done to it but was WAY WAY abused by previous owners. I traded it for the 67, it was a good car, clean , no rust, but was baby poop green and a i6 and I didn't really wanna drive it.

I got lucky that this one came up and I was about to trade. I can't wait to drive it.

Do you know how to put a convertible top up to a mustang it won't go back up ?

Huh? Start a new thread in the tech section. Explain the problem, symptoms, or whatever you know and maybe someone can help.

I just had to replace my top motor, but based on your post I can't say if that's your problem or not? Could be a number of things, but without information it's impossible to tell.

Best thing just happened, walked into farm and home and r124a is 5$ a can.

Got home and my mustang is already converted, a can later and she blows cold!!
