on my 95 GT drivers door panel backside is amounted electrical relay of some sort with a wiring harness marked N1603 AA. the relay is numbered F3LB 1AB118 AA (or something similar). does anybody what the heck this is and what it does?

Power window regulator control relay. Also known as the one-touch module. That's the little box that tells the window motor to roll the window all the way down when you touch the driver's window switch. Actual part number is F3LB-14B118-AA

thank you for the info. I am having a problem with the window trying to drive through the upper/lower limit and I would guess that this has something to do with it. the passenger side stops where it should but the drivers side must be stopped and tapped or the window clunks and bangs like it is going to shatter.

It's unlikely this is your problem. The most likely failure is the metal bracket that is glued to the lower part of the window which actually makes it stop when it hits the adjustable stop-bracket on the door. You'll want to remove the door panel, perhaps the speaker, reach in and look for the bracket. You can then use some epoxy / gorilla glue and re-attach it to the bottom of the window.

Hmm, good luck, I hope that works, I guess it's possible there's something wrong with the motor. At least I didn't send you on a goose-chase pulling the panel since you have to do that for the window motor anyways. The window stops are completely mechanical, so I'm still suspicious of the bracket, but if that's there, you can adjust the stops with a couple of bolts on top of the door.
