Days?....... The wiring will be done (at least to the point of being able to start the car) maybe by tomorrow.

I'm actually apprehensive. I gotta study Tuner studio like a college student cramming for midterms, I gotta go over and over every bolt, wire, connection, and adjustment w/ a fine tooth comb. There's so much that could go wrong. honestly, I'm like some little kid. I really can't believe that it's getting close to either being a YouTube success vid, or a puddle of fluids on my garage floor.

I gotta ask, the engine has been sitting for a while. Aside from priming the oil pump with a drill, is there anything else to do before attempting to start it in terms of lubrication?

As far as priming goes, the problem w/ that is.....

This is my oil pump. Priming this w/ a drill may prove a little difficult

I have a hard time believing the great mad mike can't figure how to turn that pump with a drill...

It takes some prodding to get me to think about stuff,...(and to actually look at it)

The pump shaft is threaded........duuuurrrrrr.

Wonder how hard it will be to loosen the belt, screw in a bolt, put a drill to socket adapter in my Dewalt, and spin the pump?

I am sure you have thought about this, but how reliable is that belt setup? I saw a thread on corral a few months back where a guy had a fuel pump kill switch wired to his oil pressure somehow. When oil pressure dropped, it killed the fuel. Maybe you could do that with the ignition or something?

As far as the belt goes, no worries. Same thing as a timing belt used everyday for a hundred thousand miles. As far as the durability of the external pump itself is,We'll see I guess.....(I believe that I asked the dude that sold the pump how durable it was, and he popped off several examples of this guy, or that guy that was/had been doing it "all the time".) As for tying the oil pressure to a FP kill switch,.... good idea. Always cheap insurance to do something like that.

Do you have a gauge mounted under the hood so that you can see the oil pressure while in prime & test mode?

While we are talking about oil pressure gauges, there another important thing to do:

Be sure to use a gauge restrictor fitting in the pressure line going to the gauge. The restrictor will prevent all of the engine's oil supply from ending up on the pavement before you can stop it if the gauge line fails. I had a gauge line rupture, and the restrictor fitting saved my engine from serious damage.
